Located near downtown you'll find McCormick field home of the Asheville Tourists a minor league baseball team. The Asheville Tourist are part of the Class A South Atlantic League since 1976 and have been the farm team for the Colorado Rockies since 1994. The park originally opened in 1924 and has been the home to approximately seven different championships. Also check their calendar frequently, on some game nights they've been known to give away free jerseys to the first 100 people through the gates.

CRAGGY MOUNTAIN LINE

111 WOODFIN AVE, ASHEVILLE, NC

$

The Craggy Mountain Line Railroad is nestled in the heart of old-timey Asheville. Located approximately five miles north of downtown Asheville at 111 N. Woodfin Ave, Asheville, NC you can jump back into a simpler period of time and board an old trolley train car that will take you on a round trip adventure through Woodfin, NC. During the Summer it even stops for a spell at a nearby riverside park. Looking for a birthday party option for your train living child? This is the perfect option to fire up their passion for transportation. On the lot while you wait for the trolley or train ride to begin they can step into a few different old-timey train cars, where activities are available, including the chance to sit in an old conductors chair.

BREAKOUT ASHEVILLE

60 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC

$$

Looking to escape the ordinary date day/night? Then Breakout Asheville is the place to go! We have been here several times, both on date nights and with our oldest two children. The games are intriguing to say the least. Each room is designed to test your intellect to the max. Don't worry about getting stuck though, because the game masters are all extremely helpful. Whether you breakout or just miss it by a hair these 60 minutes will be chocked full of excitement and adventure. From Museum Heist, to Mystery Mansion, or Runaway Train you will not be disappointed.  Make sure to book ahead of time through their website because rooms sell out fast, especially on Friday and Saturday nights!  It is the fastest 60 minutes of your life, but also the most fun!

ASHEVILLE COMMUNITY THEATRE

35 E Walnut St, Asheville, NC

$-$$

Maybe the Theatre is more your idea of a fun night out, well Asheville has just the option for that. At Asheville Community Theatre you'll find all the talent any larger theatre would afford with more heart.  My family and I had the privilege of seeing The Wizard of Oz this past Fall and without a doubt it is on our list to see another show right here in the heart of downtown Asheville at the Asheville Community Theatre. Tickets can be purchased online prior to the showing or at the box office on the night of the performance but with the level of talent at this theatre I would not leave it to chance. You may print your tickets ahead of time or they can be picked up at the will call. With numerous parking deck options downtown it is but a short walk to the front door of this fantastic theatre and without a doubt you will leave with a new tune on your mind.
